Welcome 2012

Wow! A new year already! I must apologize for the lack of posting after November. Following November 13th we had a in class Christmas party and the following Sunday we had a wonderful time in Super Church. This time super church was different. Our youth pastor Bro. West preached an awesome message. So many children opened themselves up to God and a recorded number of 4 children received the Holy Ghost!

This sunday we will be experiencing a one service children's church! Bro. West will again be the guest speaker and there will be a live worship team. Parents, teachers, children, whoever is reading this blog please pray for this upcoming children's service. We are looking for not only kids to receive the Holy Ghost, but for them to be baptized in the ONLY saving name-JESUS!! So please let us all pray for God to have his way and manifest his presence on Sunday. See you all then and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Have a happy and blessed 2012 year!

Super Church -Sunday November 13, 2011

HAVE AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE!

Today in Children's Church we learned about serving God with the right attitude. We discovered some scripture like:

1 Thessalonians 5:18- " Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 136:1- "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever."
Psalm 100:4 "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise
his name."

Students then learned about the 10 lepers that Jesus healed. 10 Lepers were healed but only one said thank you. Children's Pastor, James Wang, then did an object lesson with the kids with eggs. One egg had a happy face and a grateful attitude. This egg had a good yoke everyone agreed that they, like God, would use that egg to bake or what not. Then Bro. James showed a frowning egg that was ungrateful. When cracked, this egg was nasty and everyone said they would not use this egg ( just as God can't use people with bad attitudes).

We learned a lot from Children's church and had lots of fun singing and doing moves to VBS songs! See everyone next week for more fun!

Sunday November 6th, 2011

Today's Bible point was "I want a clean heart". Students learned the story of Ananias and Sapphira. Bro Dennis led the lesson by having the kids act out the story of the two, Sis Bianca played a game called "clean heart" where students had 'property' and could either give all their property to the church or could lie and keep their property. Sis Darla brought a yummy snack and enjoyed fellowship with the kids while Sis Faith introduced the new memory verse.

Remember "I want a clean Heart!"

Next week is SUPER CHURCH!

Sunday October 30, 2011- The Holy Ghost

Last Sunday students learned about the last 'key' to get into heaven, the HOLY GHOST!

Sis Faith led the lesson and craft which told the story of the early church in the upper room and how as a rushing mighty wind, the holy ghost came upon the people. Each and every person spoke in other tongues as the spirit gave them utterance.

Bro Dennis led a cool activity using legos.Kids built a structure or design with their legos. Then Bro Dennis would take it apart as he said ," Now you've got the Holy Ghost so you have to create a new design." This helped students realize that the Holy Ghost changes a persons life.

Sis Bianca made chocolate milk which further emphasized that the Holy Ghost ( chocolate syrup) changes you ( the milk). Students would watch as the Holy Ghost mixed into your life and soon became the only thing you saw.

Sis Darla did an awesome job helping the kids learn the memory verse and answering questions on Baptism, Repentance, and the Holy Ghost.

We had an awesome time and can't wait for this Sunday!

SUnday Oct 23- Baptism in Jesus Name

Today students learned the importance of baptism in Jesus name. Once again, we divided the students up into to teams and they randomly went to each station.
Sis Darla led the lesson and pretended she was a friend of Paul and heard the story of Paul re-baptizing people in Jesus name.

Sis Faith led a fun activity in the court yard and played Jesus (Which is a rendition of gold fish only fishing for the letters to the name Jesus.)

Bro Dennis led snack where the kids had to "dunk" their cookie into their milk, just as a person is dunked into the water when baptized.

Sis Bianca led the memory verse workshop where students played a friendly race of which team wrote down the memory verse the fastest. First, they teams where given time to memorize the verse, then they had to write down the verse from memory (team members where encouraged to help the writer).

Baptism in Jesus Name is CRUCIAL to being saved!

Repentance- A Complete Turn Around

Sorry for the delay. Last Sunday Primary Soldiers tried a different method to structure the classroom. We put each child's name on a Popsicle stick and separated the class into three teams.

Sis Bianca led the lesson on Repentance by asking for a volunteer and acting out different scenarios in which she bumped into someone. She would say sorry, but the class had to decide if she meant it or not. There students learned that Repentance is a 4 step process.
1. Do something wrong (sin)
2. You are sorry and feel bad for doing the sin
3. Ask God's forgiveness
4. NEVER DO IT AGAIN

We learned that when we truly repent we never do the sin again. Then she shouwed how God forgives sin with a cool trick that included soda and a can.

Sis Darla was in the court yard leading the activity. Basically each child was blindfolded and had to walk towards a the wall. The students fellow teammates would have to tell him how to walk to the wall, when to stop, and turn around so he/she did not bump into the wall. This gave students a great visual and textile representation about how Repentance is not just saying "sorry", but is a COMPLETE TURN AROUND.

Bro Dennis had two duties, snack and memory verse. We still have our memory verse from last week and will be keeping it for a couple more weeks. The memory verse is Acts 2:38-39. He led the students in memorizing the memory verse and talked with them about Repentance.

October 9, 2011 We're Here to Help

Sunday we had an awesome time in Children's Church where we learned that Tabitha otherwise known as Dorcas was a woman who was well loved in her town of Joppa. She was known to sew clothes and give food to the poor. She got really sick and died, she was so well loved that Simeon Peter traveled to Joppa and brought her back to life. Her story can be found in ACTS 9: 36-42. From Tabitha we learned that anyone can help someone else and that helping is imporant to Gods kingdom. So remember "We're Here To Help!"

We will see everyone on Sunday. We have exciting things planned : )
